David Sitton
, President of To Every Tribe Ministries , and his brother Jim Sitton, father of a murdered 6-year-old-girl, will address the theme: "Help Iron Sharpens Iron Catch a Killer (And a Christian Response to Unspeakable Tragedy)".

From the "America's Most Wanted" web site:

On Thanksgiving Day, extended family gathered in one Jupiter [Florida]home to celebrate, spend time with relatives, and enjoy the holiday. Of the 17 family members in the house, one was 35-year-old Paul Michael Merhige. The day appeared to be going fine, until the evening hours.

Cops say at some point, Merhige excused himself and walked out to his 2007 Toyota Camry. When he returned, they say he opened fire on his unsuspecting family.

Cops tell America's Most Wanted that Merhige targeted his twin sisters.

After shooting them, cops say he turned his attention to a 76-year-old aunt before his final act of cowardice.

Witnesses told cops that Merhige then shot and killed his final victim, a 6-year-old girl.

When the carnage was done, Carla Merhige and her twin sister Lisa Knight lay dead, along with Merhige's aunt, Raymonde Joseph, and his 6-year-old cousin, Makayla Sitton.

Cops say Merhige then fled in his car, which has not been found.

When the carnage was done, Carla Merhige and her twin sister Lisa Knight lay dead, along with Merhige's aunt, Raymonde Joseph, and his 6-year-old cousin, Makayla Sitton (see entire story here ).
These brutally murdered victims, and their killer, are all from the family of our guests tonight, David Sitton, President of To Every Tribe Ministries , and his brother Jim. Among the victims are Jim's own 6-year-old daughter, and Jim's 76-year-old mother-in-law.

Merhige's relatives say he is a smart man and his actions since the shooting suggest he put a lot of thought into this plot.

Merhige has been named to U.S. Marshals' Top 15 Most Wanted list and the manhunt is on.

Law enforcement is nervous. The extent of the crime, plus the fact that he is armed and dangerous makes this a dire situation and cops are on high alert.

If you have any information about Paul Merhige, call our hotline right away at 1-800-CRIME-TV.

Another article on these brutal murders can be found here: http://cbs4.com/local/Paul.Michael.Merhige.2.1352259.html

We hope and pray that someone listening to tonight's broadcast will be instrumental in helping the authorities bring Paul Merhige to justice. We also hope that those grieving over the death or deaths of their own loved ones find peace through Jesus Christ after hearing David and Jim's testimony.

Steve Fenchel: A Redeemed Jew Reflects on the Birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Eve

.
MP3 Available Here

Steve Fenchel, leader of Congregation Sha'ar Adonai, a Messianic Congregation on the upper westside of NYC (see http://shaaradonai.org/ ), which was planted with the cooperation of Chosen people Ministries (see http://www.chosenpeople.com/main/ ), will address the theme: "A Redeemed Jew Reflects on the Birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Eve".

Steve Fenchel grew up in a Jewish home in Brooklyn, New York. His father, a deeply religious Jew, raised him in the Orthodox tradition. When Steve was nine years old, his father died, and Steve became very angry with God. By the time he was 13, he began drinking and soon after that, he started taking drugs. Always a people person and very outgoing, the dramatic changes in his life caused him to have psychological problems. Knowing he needed help, he searched for answers in Eastern religions and psychedelic drugs.

By the time he was 26, he became reclusive and locked himself in a room for the next two years. Through a series of events he started to re-emerge on the streets of New York. One evening when he was leaving a Buddhist Temple in New York City, a Christian woman handed him a booklet with quotes from C. S. Lewis and the Bible. This small booklet and the sincerity of this Christian woman made a deep impression on him. As a result of this and contact with some recently converted friends, Steve gave his heart to the Lord and his life was dramatically turned around.

Carol was raised in an Italian Catholic home where she felt alone and misunderstood. At a very early age, Carol, like many of her generation, sought peace, love and freedom in the hippie movement of the late 60s. By the age of seventeen she was steeped in this culture and was heavily involved in the music, drugs and commune culture of that time.

While living in a rural commune right outside of Woodstock, New York she met Steve, who, just three weeks before had the encounter with Messiah that changed his life. Through Steve's influence and the witness of some other people in the "Jesus Movement" Carol too had an encounter with Jesus that led her to have a personal relationship with Him.

Their lives radically changed, together they embarked on their life journey of serving Jesus. Today Steve is an ordained (Southern Baptist) pastor. Together they have led Messianic congregations and Messianic worship for the last 17 years.

Phil Johnson: God & Sinners Reconciled

.
MP3 Available Here

PHIL JOHNSON
, president of "Grace To You," the radio, television & tape ministry of world-renowned radio Bible teacher, author & pastor, DR. JOHN MACARTHUR, will address the theme: "God & Sinners Reconciled".

Every Christmas season, millions of people all over the world, Christians and non-Christians alike, joyfully sing "Hark the Herald Angels Sing", the glorious Christmas hymn penned by Charles Wesley, who along with his brother John were revival preachers in the 18th century. Here are the extraordinarily beautiful lyrics:

Hark the herald angels sing:
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing:
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Christ by highest heav'n adored
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing:
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing:
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Tonight our guest Phil Johnson will focus his attention especially on the profound statement within that hymn, "God and sinners reconciled". Many who sing this great hymn in their churches, while caroling or during special Christmas celebrations may sing those words and pass right by them without understanding or appreciating the magnitude of the theology present in those words. Hopefully, and prayerfully, these words will forever after have an infinitely greater impact upon the hearts of all who listen to tonight's broadcast.

Phil Johnson, also maintains "The Spurgeon Archive", the largest collection of Charles Haddon Spurgeon resources on the world wide web, and his blog site, http://teampyro.blogspot.com/.

Steve Camp: The Incarnation: An Exposition of John 1:14

.
MP3 Available Here

Steve Camp, well known Christian recording artist, writer of a Grammy Award-winning song, theologically Reformed Christian apologist, founder of audienceONE Ministries and pastor of the Cross Church in Palm City, Florida, will address the theme: "The Incarnation: An Exposition of John 1:14".

The passage we are reflecting on tonight, John 1:14, reads:
"And the Word became flesh
and dwelt among us,
and we have seen His glory,
glory as of the only Son from the Father,
full of grace and truth."
-John 1:14

Tonight our guest Steve Camp will address the great significance of each of the five phrases in that passage, with some help from the great 18th century Calvinist Baptist scholar and theologian John Gill, who pastored the New Park Street Chapel and the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, England, during the century prior to Charles Haddon Spurgeon's ministry in both of these churches. To read Dr. Gill's commentary on this passage visit Steve Camp's blog site and scroll down to the entry for Tuesday, December 22nd: http://stevenjcamp.blogspot.com/.
Here are the lyrics to Steve Camp's Christmas hymn, "Immanuel, God With Us":
Immanuel
Immanuel, Immanuel
God is with us, God is with us
Immanuel, Immanuel
God is with us

V1 Shepherds rejoice lift up your eyes,
And send your fears away salvation’s born to day
Jesus, the God whom angels fear,
Comes down to dwell with you but not as monarchs do

No gold nor purple swaddling bands nor royal shining things
A manger for His cradle stands to hold the King of kings

Immanuel
Immanuel, Immanuel
God is with us, God is with us
Immanuel, Immanuel
God is with us

V2 Go shepherds where the infant lies,
And see His humble throne, come and kiss the Son
Angels sang and praises rang,
The heavenly armies throng and magnify the song

Shall angels have their songs and men no tunes to raise
O may we loose our tongues and give Thee glorious praise

Immanuel
Immanuel, Immanuel
God is with us, God is with us
Immanuel, Immanuel
God is with us

PRINCE OF PEACE, WONDERFUL COUNSELOR
THE MIGHTY GOD, AND EVERLASTING FATHER
HE CAME TO EARTH TO REDEEM A PEOPLE FOR HIS OWN
AND NOW WE LIVE TO LIVE FOR HIM, ALL PRAISE TO CHRIST ALONE

Immanuel
Immanuel, Immanuel
God is with us, God is with us
Immanuel, Immanuel
God is with us

Jim Elliff: Christmas: Bah Humbug or Gloria in Excelsis?

.
MP3 Available Here

Jim Elliff, founder and president of Christian Communicators Worldwide, will address the theme:
"Christmas:
Bah Humbug or Gloria in Excelsis?"

Jim Elliff, referring to his family, says:

"We do Christmas slowly. That is, instead of tearing into presents for a ten minutes rush of adrenaline, we open them one by one and take all morning. We wrap everything, even stocking gifts. If something can be divided into two packages, we do it. Even gum is wrapped.

"It happens like this. The question is asked, 'Who gets to give the next gift?' Then that perfect gift is found, handed over, and opened as dramatically as possible. Exclamation follows and a huge hug and 'Thaaaaaanks; that's just what I wanted!' In fact, we might play with the gift, or try it on, right there. We've seen a half an hour pass before another gift is opened.

"You get it, we want it to take some time, to enjoy it, to savor it, not conquer it.

"We talk about Christ's birth around the advent carousel the night before, sometimes following a candlelight service, and always accompanied by (imitation) eggnog (called "egg knocker" when the kids were young). That's very special to us.

"Now this brings up an important point. Should we really do all of this?..."

Tonight Jim will reflect on the above question in light of the following two interesting points:

1.) The Puritans did not celebrate Christmas, and found in the holidays a call to Rome and a high, formal Anglicanism that they felt was the deceiver of so many through the ages. They wanted nothing to do with religious traditions and ceremonies passed down by men. I may have stood right with them in their day, especially in England. After all, Christmas is really "Christ Mass." I understand their concern and applaud them for their courage.

2.) Today Christmas is almost entirely secularized. It is a merchant's most profitable period as eager shoppers raid their shelves. Can we be any more comfortable with a secular Christmas than the religiously-loaded Christmas the Puritans detested?

Then, in light of these two considerations, Jim will address some reasons why he still believes it is okay (and very beneficial) to celebrate Christmas, complete with gift-giving and "egg knocker", including:

1.) The day itself is not really the day Christ was born. (This at first may sound like a reason to avoid Christmas, but Jim has reasons why this fact gives us more liberty to participate in celebrating this day).

2.) Diversity over the years has taken away much of the "Romish" flavor to the holiday.

3.) God can be honored in gift-giving and generosity as well as in singing carols and telling the story.

4.) There may be better things to be different about. In other words, we might show our radical difference better in the way we treat other shoppers, the kindness we show to retail clerks, the warmth of our hearts, the largeness of our generosity, the thankfulness we express and really feel.

5.) There are admittedly some great opportunities to make Christ known during Christmas. With all that is bad about it, we can still make our point.

As Jim puts it: "As for us, a world of superficiality cannot stop us from worshipping Christ for His coming to earth if we really want to do it. Gloria in Excelsis!"

Clete Hux: The Harry Potter Phenomena: How Much Occult & New Age is Okay for a Child's Consumption?

.
MP3 Available Here

Clete Hux, Counter-Cult Apologist for the Apologetics Resource Center (see http://www.arcapologetics.org/ ), will address: "The Harry Potter Phenomena: How Much Occult & New Age is Okay for a Child's Consumption?"

Tonight Clete will compare and contrast popular works of fantasy such as the "Harry Potter" series with the classics works of C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien, and why the former should be viewed as unacceptable in a Christian home while the latter should be welcomed.

The Apologetics Resource Center (ARC), is a Christian ministry which encompasses the full range of Christian Apologetics. "Apologetics" means to give an answer or defense for the historic Christian faith. Thus ARC's mission is "to reach the minds and hearts of people with the message and truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ," contending for the faith in the areas of resistance of skepticism, secularism, cults and other alien religions and philosophies.

As ARC's Counter-Cult Apologist, Clete heads up the ministry's answer to cults and new religious movements. He works with churches and individuals in providing a defense for a witness to the mission field of the cults, which has become the largest yet least evangelized mission field in the world.

Clete's interest in Christian apologetics and ministry to the cults began with his first witnessing opportunity. The day after he became a Christian in 1974, he encountered a homosexual member of the Church of Satan. Since then his interest in separating spiritual truth from error has motivated him to educate and evangelize.

He graduated from Mississippi College in 1974 with a BS in General Business. Clete was a college athlete, playing football at both Copiah-Lincoln Junior College and Mississippi College. He was listed in Who's Who Among Collegiate Athletes in America during 1970-1972.

After graduating, Clete worked as a claims representative in the insurance industry. During this time, he sensed the Lord's calling him to ministry. He responded by entering Birmingham Theological Seminary (BTS) in the fall of 1977. In 1981, Clete entered full time ministry serving as Assistant Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Gadsden, AL. From 1982 to 1984, he served as Student Supply Pastor, Associate Pastor, and as a Church Planter for Warrior (AL) Presbytery.

Clete graduated from BTS in 1984 with a Master of Divinity degree, and was ordained as Pastor in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). He served as Senior Pastor for First Presbyterian Church in Eutaw, AL, and Roebuck Presbyterian Church in Roebuck, SC. From 1990 to February 2001, he served in counter-cult ministry with Watchman Fellowship, first as a Staff Missionary, then as Associate Director for the state of Alabama, and finally as Director of Missions. Clete remains a Teaching Elder in the PCA, and is a member of Evangel Presbytery.

In 1982, Clete married the former Karen Stemple. They have two sons; Michael, born in 1984 and Aaron, born in 1988. Clete and his family are active members of Briarwood Presbyterian Church.

Some of Clete's accomplishments in the area of cult apologetics include:

*Guest lecturer at over 900 churches throughout the US and beyond.

*Author of numerous articles about cults and new religious trends; has appeared as an expert commentator for print, radio, television, and internet media, locally, nationally, and internationally.

*Participated on a training team for pastors and key lay ministers in a National Cult Awareness Crusade in Romania, where he also made presentations on the New Age Movement for Romanian National Television, and the cults for Europe-wide broadcasting through Trans-World Radio.

*Has taught Apologetics/Cult Apologetics at Reformed Theological Seminary, Birmingham Theological Seminary, and Westminister Theological Colleges in Perth and Brisbane, Australia. He is a member of the faculty at Birmingham Theological Seminary where he has also taught classes in Old Testament Survey, Systematic Theology, Contemporary Theology, World Religions, and Church Growth. Clete has also taught courses in Systematic Theology at Birmingham Baptist Bible College.

*Guest lecturer for such institutions and ministries as: Beeson Divinity School, Wesley College, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) School of Evangelism, Emanuel College in Queensland, Australia, Campus Crusade for Christ, Inter-Varsity, Reformed University Fellowship, Campus Outreach Ministries, Navigator, and a campus ministry at University of Queensland, Australia

*Seminar presenter on New Age in Public Education at Beverly LaHaye's Concerned Women for America, National Convention in Washington, DC and speaker at Community Bible Study's Regional Leadership Conference.

*Panel speaker on the Word-Faith Movement at the Philadelphia Conference on Cults, the Occult and the Word-Faith Movement sponsored by Evangelical Ministries to New Religions (EMNR), Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, and Eastern Christian Outreach. He is considered an expert on the Word-Faith Movement and continues to lead workshops at annual EMNR conferences.

Jeffrey D. Niell: The Same Sex Controversy: Defending & Clarifying the Bible's Message About Homosexuality

MP3 Available Here

Jeffrey D. Niell,
pastor of Emmanuel Covenant Church in Glendale, AZ, will address the theme of the book he co-authored with Dr. James R. White of Alpha & Omega Ministries: "The Same Sex Controversy: Defending & Clarifying the Bible's Message About Homosexuality".

According to FOX News:

"The race is on in New Jersey -- in both lobbying and spending -- as advocates on both sides of the fight try to gain advantage in the latest same sex marriage battleground before the new chief executive takes office. Supporters of gay marriage are frantically pushing to get a bill to outgoing Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine before he leaves office next month. His successor, Republican Gov.-elect Chris Christie, has vowed to veto any such measure passed by the Legislature after he takes office Jan. 19.

"But if Corzine can sign the bill into law before then, Christie and opponents of same sex marriage will have to wait at least until the next state legislative elections in 2011 to fight back. 'This is the whole ballgame,' said Brian Brown, executive director of the National Organization for Marriage, which has spent more than $600,000 in radio and TV ads and robo-calls against same-sex marriage. 'If it's signed into law, we have a long hard slog to shift the nature of the Legislature,' he said. If we win this vote, this is dead for the next four years.'..." (Read entire article here: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/12/09/advocates-tap-war-chest-battle-sex-marriage-new-jersey/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%253A+foxnews%252Fpolitics+%2528FOXNews.com+-+Politics%2529).

Amid all of the politial clamor on same-sex marriage, theologians are "facing off" on the question as to whether or not the Bible truly prohibits homosexuality, and whether or not it ever did. Whereas many if not the vast majority of homosexuals, liberals and "pro-gay rights" activists not long ago merely dismissed the Bible as being nothing but an antiquated, irrelevant book filled with myths and fables written by hateful men in order to promote their own racist, misogynist and "homophobic" ideology, more and more homosexual sympathizers in clerical robes and in halls of academia are teaching that a prohibition of homosexuality is totally absent from the pages of Scripture (both Old & New Testaments), especially any prohibition of committed, loving, monogamous homosexual relationships.

Today our guest Jeffrey D. Niell will seek to respond to some of the most popular arguments given by theologians defending homosexuality as a valid lifestyle in harmony with the Bible. In "The Same Sex Controversy" Pastor Niell and Dr. James R. White write for all who want to better understand the Bible's teaching on the subject, explaining and defending the foundational Bible passages that deal with homosexuality—including Genesis, Leviticus, and Romans. Expanding on these Scriptures, they refute the revisionists' arguments—including the claim that Christians today need not adhere to the Law. In a straightforward and loving manner, they appeal to those caught up in a homosexual lifestyle to repent and return to God's plan for His people.

"The book to give to all who want level-headed scriptural teaching as they wrestle with this provocative issue." --- Dr. Joel R. Beeke-Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, President and Professor of Systematic Theology and Homiletics

.
MP3 Available Here

Tom Ascol, pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Cape Coral, Florida, the Executive Director of Founders Ministries and Editor of the Founders Journal , will address the theme: "The Good Shepherds: The Role of Elders in Handling Error in the Church".

Today's theme, "The Good Shepherds", is also the title of the chapter Dr. Ascol contributed to the invaluable new book, "Risking the Truth: Handling Error in the Church"
, edited by Martin Downes, minister of Christ Church Deeside in North Wales. This book is a collection of interviews on handling truth and error in the church. Contributors reflect on this issue in relation to the minister's own life, pulpit ministry, local church leadership, seminary training, denominations, the impact of the academy, Evangelicalism, contemporary trends, history, creeds and confessions, and doctrines that are currently under attack. There is also personal reflection on these matters, lessons drawn from experience, and practical advice. Other contributors are Carl R. Trueman, Tom Schreiner, Michael Horton, Mark Dever, Ligon Duncan, Derek Thomas, R. Scott Clark, Guy P. "This is a book that promotes reflection. By introducing you to a number of leading Christian thinkers, it gives you a read that is interesting, informative and stimulating. It provides you with a treasure-chest of historical, theological and practical insights as it airs issues that are confronting the worldwide church and its leaders at the present time. Christian pastors, leaders and academics who neglect this book will be very much the poorer intellectually, spiritually and practically." --- Stuart Olyott ~ Pastoral Director, Evangelical Movement of Wales

"What a novel way to approach this most vital of subjects! Given that theological reflection is human thought about the Scriptural revelation of a tri-personal God, I have always believed that the personal element has a place in all of our theologizing. The subjective should not-indeed cannot-be removed from theology. And here we see the way that some of the most important theological minds of our day personally grapple with how truth is to be defended. This mesh of subjectivity and Christian apologetics-in which objectivity is so vital-makes for both compelling and profoundly instructive reading." --- Michael A. G. Haykin ~ Professor of Church History and Biblical Spirituality, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky

Ken Silva: How Noble is Perry Noble?: A 'Rock Star' Pastor Attacks Christians Digging Deeper Into God's Word

.

Ken Silva, pastor of Connecticut River Baptist Church & president of Apprising Ministries in Claremont, NH, will address the theme: "How Noble is Perry Noble?: A 'Rock Star' Pastor Attacks Christians Digging Deeper Into God's Word".

Perry Noble, lead pastor of NewSpring Church, says that the Christian who wants to go deeper into God’s Word is a “jackass.” He also quotes John Maxwell telling us the following pietistic foolishness that supposedly “most Christians are educated way beyond their level of obedience anyway.”

In Hip Pastor Blasts Those Who Want To Go Deeper in God’s Word over at The Crosstalk Blog Ingrid Schlueter shows how seriously off-track this man-centered seeker-sensitive movement, built as it is on cult-of-personality pastors, has become when she brings out:

Rock star pastor Perry Noble of NewSpring Church in Anderson, South Carolina, says you are a jackass if you’re sick of shallow seeker sermons and want to go deeper into God’s Word. Yes, you read that sentence correctly.

Noble has led the nation’s lemming pastors into new frontiers of circus church. Who would have ever thought to use AC/DC’s Highway to Hell as a church prelude before Noble hit the scene? (Online source)

Steve Camp: Is the Catholic My Brother?: What Should Our Theological Litmus Test Be to Define a Professing Christian as a Brother in Christ?

Steve Camp, well known Christian recording artist, writer of a Grammy Award-winning song, theologically Reformed Christian apologist and founder of audienceONE Ministries will address the theme: "Is the Catholic My Brother?: What Should Our Theological Litmus Test Be to Define a Professing Christian as a Brother in Christ?

In this day and age it has become more and more common for Evangelical Christian leaders to sign documents or participate in public, evangelistic events that imply Roman Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox share the same Faith with the heirs of the Reformation, albeit some differences of little or no importance. But, is this true? Did the Church of Rome proclaim this unity at the Council of Trent? Should we, today, whether we are Evangelicals or Catholics?

Tonight our guest will adress these very controversial questions as the pressure gets greater for participation within the modern ecumenical movement.

Doug Wilson, a pastor of Christ Church, Moscow, Idaho, editor of Credenda/Agenda magazine, and a Senior Fellow at New Saint Andrews College, will address the theme: "Is Christianity Good For the World?: Reflections on the Doug Wilson-Christopher Hitchens Debate".

As the debate DVD promotional material describes it: "In May 2007, leading atheist Christopher Hitchens and Christian apologist Douglas Wilson began to argue the topic 'Is Christianity Good for the World?' in a series of written exchanges published in Christianity Today. The rowdy literary bout piqued the interest of filmmaker Darren Doane, who sought out Hitchens and Wilson to pitch the idea of making a film around the debate.

"In Fall 2008, Doane and crew accompanied Hitchens and Wilson on an east coast tour to promote the book compiled from their written debate titled creatively enough, Is Christianity Good for the World?. According to Doane: 'We were ready to make a movie about two intellectual warriors at the top of their game going one-on-one. I knew it would make an amazing film'..."

James R. White: King James Only Gone Wild!: A Response to the Scheduled Bible & Book Burning in North Carolina (Encore Presentation)

.
MP3 Available Here

James R. White, author of "The King James Only Controversy", founder & director of Alpha & Omega Ministries , a theologically Reformed Christian apologetics ministry based in Phoenix, AZ, will address the theme: "King James Only Gone Wild!: A Response to the Scheduled Bible & Book Burning in North Carolina".

Pastor Marc Grizzard of
Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Canton, NC , has scheduled a "Halloween Book Burning" this Saturday during which, according to their web site, in addition to books by popular authors: "We are burning Satan's bibles like the NIV, RSV, NKJV, TLB, NASB, NEV, NRSV, ASV, NWT, Good News for Modern Man, The Evidence Bible, The Message Bible, The Green Bible, ect..."

While our guest today, Dr. James R. White, does not endorse the use of all of these versions listed above, nor does he have high esteem for all of the authors of books planned to be tossed into the fire this Saturday, he will respond to this kind of activity and the mindset that would lead to such an event as this, especially in light of the fact he considers some of these versions to be excellent, and that some of the authors of books scheduled to be burned are men Dr. White would highly recommend.

Pastor Marc Grizzard, host of the Bible & Book Burning, has been invited to participate in our broadcast and this was his reply:

Hello Chris,
You are asking for a debate, but must be lacking Bible knowledge. In Romans 1:28-29 Paul said, " And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers," I realize a so-called Bible "scholar" like Mr. White will say different, because his perversions have removed the word "debate." Mr. White does not believe the King James Bible is the preserved, inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God. He may have the save vocabulary, but he uses a different dictionary. He is a liberal, compromiser, and a heretic as far as I'm concerned. The fact is, he has abandoned the Word of God. "LET GOD BE TRUE BUT EVERY MAN; A LIAR!

For you to have someone to come on your show that questions the Word of God, corrections it, adds to it, doubts it, lies about it, and removes it, does not say much for you or your so-called Christian radio station.
Pastor Marc Grizzard

In addition to his labors for the furtherance of the Kingdom of Christ with Alpha & Omega Ministries, Dr. James R. White is a professor, having taught Greek, Systematic Theology, and various topics in the field of apologetics. He has authored or contributed to more than twenty books, including "The King James Only Controversy", "The Forgotten Trinity", "The Potter's Freedom: A Defense of the Reformation & A Rebuttal of Norman Geisler's 'Chosen But Free'", "Dangerous Airwaves: Harold Camping Refuted & Christ's Church Defended" and "The God Who Justifies" (see a complete list of Dr. White's available works here).

He is an accomplished debater, having engaged in more than fifty moderated, public debates with leading proponents of Roman Catholicism, Liberal Protestantism, Homosexual Activism, Oneness Pentecostalism, Islam, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Mormonism, in addition to having collegial, "in-house" debates with friends & brothers in Christ over issues ranging from the biblical subjects of baptism to the doctrines of Calvinism.

He is an elder of the
Phoenix Reformed Baptist Church, has been married to Kelli for more than twenty-two years, and has two children, Joshua and Summer. Listen to Dr. White's live, call-in Internet program "The Dividing Line" at http://www.aomin.org/.

Guy P. Waters: A Debtor to Mercy Alone

.
MP3 Available Here

Guy P. Waters, Associate Professor of New Testament at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, and author of "Justification & the New Perspective on Paul" and "The Federal Vision & Covenant Theology", and co-editor of "By Faith Alone" will address the theme: "A Debtor to Mercy Alone".

Today's theme is also the title of the chapter Dr. Waters contributed to the invaluable new book, "Risking the Truth: Handling Error in the Church", edited by Martin Downes, minister of Christ Church Deeside in North Wales. The interviews are introduced by a primer on heresy and false teaching, and concluded with a chapters on why "Being Against Heresies is not enough" and "What really matters in ministry: directives for church leaders in Acts 20." Other contributors are Carl R. Trueman, Tom Schreiner, Michael Horton, Mark Dever, Ligon Duncan, Derek Thomas, R. Scott Clark, Tom Ascol, Kim Riddlebarger, Ron Gleason, Sean Michael Lucas, Iain D Campbell, Gary L. W. Johnson, Conrad Mbewe, Geoffrey Thomas, Joel Beeke, Robert Peterson, Michael Ovey.

"This work is important because it deals with contemporary trends, history, creeds and confessions, and doctrines that are currently under attack. There is personal reflection on these matters, lessons drawn from experience, and practical advice. Kim Riddlebarger, in a truly gripping chapter, describes how he was extricated from dispensationalism. Chapter twenty by Robert Peterson has the apt title, ‘The annihilation of hell'. Ligon Duncan provides a brilliant explanation of the New Perspective on Paul. He refutes and buries it...Ligon's contribution is worth the price of the book."--- Erroll Hulse, Editor of Reformation Today Magazine

"It is a privilege to introduce and recommend this unique book. ...a very distinctive contribution to the early twenty-first century church. Martin Downes has assembled an all-star team..." --- Sinclair B. Ferguson ~ Senior Minister, First Presbyterian Church, Columbia, South Carolina
